Boys' Festival First Festival with a helmet decoration for a May doll | A warrior marches out to battle Waku-kun from Fujieda City, Shizuoka Prefecture

Thank you for your letter.
My father gave my son a helmet as a gift for his first Doll's Festival.
Once we started decorating it, the baby seemed very interested in the shining helmet and walked straight up to it.

We put up a baby fence to ensure the safety of Kabuto and our son, but it was also adorable to see him peeking through the gaps in the fence.

In just under two months, he has started standing up and walking.
On May 5th, we celebrated with our grandparents at home and removed the fence for a commemorative photo.

He seemed very happy to see Kabuto-sama again after such a long time.
This year it was heavy and difficult to wear, but I'm looking forward to being able to wear it next year.

Thank you for this wonderful opportunity.
I'm Ohata, a staff member at Hina Dolls.

Thank you for the heartwarming photos.
It looks like a brave outfit, like a warrior going into battle.

This is the first time I've seen a photo of you riding a horse, and it's very picturesque.
They seem to be very curious, and we couldn't help but laugh when we saw the baby guards placed outside the May dolls...!

He is peeking through the gap in the fence! (laughs)

The helmet is heavy, so I don't think it would be possible to do it on the first festival day,
I think it teaches us the process of growing up, as children eventually start to wear it with ease, and then eventually they can't wear it anymore.

We hope you enjoy it every year.

Thank you very much for this opportunity.
