Boys' Festival First Festival with a helmet decoration for May dolls | Akimasa-kun from Shizunami is full of curiosity

~Letter from Grandfather~
On Saturday, May 16th, we celebrated the first Doll's Festival for our firstborn, Shosho.
The main character's first child, Akimasa, was born in July last year and is now 10 months old.
He can now crawl and stand, and has a strong sense of curiosity.
I find every single one of his actions adorable. (I'm a grandchild nerd, but...)
Sometimes, when I say "What does it mean to be happy? Do it!" she bends her knees and shakes her hips to show me cute gestures (laughs).
Even at the celebration for his first birthday, he didn't just sit still, but crawled over to the helmet ornament and started touching it.
We spent some time playing, looking up at the swaying carp streamers and swaying them.
When I saw her gesture and couldn't help but say "So cute!", my three-year-old daughter started to imitate her as well.
So we all burst out laughing again.
I tried to express this situation in a haiku.
"We laughed together at the gestures of the first festival"
I think the Hatsu-Sekku festival is a time when people gather around their firstborn child, build family bonds, and pray for their child's growth.
The methods may change with the times, but I believe the basic wish remains the same.
We also wish for our grandchildren to grow up healthy.
The addition of hanging carp streamers made the area more lively.
It was also the perfect size and well balanced to match the helmet ornament.

Thank you for this wonderful opportunity.
I'm Ohata, a staff member at Hinasei.
Thank you for the lovely, heartwarming photos and letter.
Akimasa is very interested in many things!
It must be really comforting for the family to see their adorable gestures and expressions.
I bet next year she'll be chasing after her big sister.
I'm excited to see my grandchild grow every day!
I hope you continue to make lots of wonderful memories.
Thank you very much for this wonderful opportunity.
