When I found out I was pregnant with these babies and that I was having twins, the joy doubled.
However, the doctor told me that it was a high-risk pregnancy, so I prayed every day that the baby was growing safely in my stomach.
Meanwhile, she gave birth via emergency Caesarean section on May 6th, three months earlier than her due date (August 2nd).
Both mother and children were somehow safe, but the twins were premature.
The older brother, Soma, weighed 1,163g and the younger brother, Takuma, weighed 1,385g. He was immediately taken to Shizuoka Children's Hospital, so it was a few days later that he was able to meet his children for the first time.
He had lots of tubes attached to his tiny body, was given medication, and underwent several surgeries.I was extremely anxious for the six months until we were able to leave the hospital, wondering whether he would actually grow and become a normal adult.
After being discharged from the hospital, although it was difficult, he was loved by his family and his older sister (2 years and 5 months old) wanted to help take care of him, so he spent every day in good health and happiness, and recently celebrated his first birthday in good health.
It was really nice to be able to celebrate with the whole family.
The first year after you were born was really, really difficult, but I'm grateful that you grew up healthy.
Thank you for always smiling.
Thank you for coming to our family.
We all love you guys.

Thank you for this wonderful opportunity.
I'm Kurebayashi, a staff member at Hinasei.
Thank you for the lovely, heartwarming photos and letter.
It's hard to bear the sight of so many tubes connected to his tiny body.
It must have been quite difficult in many ways.
I often feel that children's vitality is truly amazing.
Loved by his older sister, his parents, and everyone around him, he will surely grow up to be a kind and strong child.
Cherish your daily life and make lots of happy memories.
And be sure to enjoy a wonderful Tango no Sekku festival every year with your helmet.
Thank you for this wonderful opportunity.
