Tomomi Kato's May Doll Helmet Decoration for Boys' Festival First Boys' Festival | Ao-kun from Shinagawa, Tokyo

The festival doll that arrived has a beautiful helmet and my husband and I are very happy with it.
I liked Kato Tomomi's work and looked at many of her works, but I couldn't find anything that really suited me and was having trouble deciding. Then I saw an advertisement for her folding screen and really liked the atmosphere of the screen, so I bought it.
The decorations were delivered on a lucky day, so I displayed them on that day and was looking forward to celebrating my son's first May 5th.

Thank you also for the carp streamers and haori coats that I received as options.
My son, who is gradually beginning to recognize colors, enjoyed looking at and touching the carp streamers.
I was also touched by the adorable sight of my son in his haori coat.

This festival will come every year from now on, but I agonized over which helmet would suit my son, and the joy I felt when I finally purchased one and displayed it is a memory that I will never forget.
It was a day that made me realize once again that the custom of praying for children's health is a manifestation of a feeling that never fades, no matter the era.
