A well-made May doll that sells well: 1/3 Minamoto no Yoshitsune helmet (green) for sale

This helmet ornament is a reproduction of the real thing from the Heian period, made for the May Dolls festival.
The large shovel-shaped helmet crest (kuwagata) is also very beautiful, with green woven thread. It is an expression of helmet making in the Genji and Heian periods. It is made with a focus on authenticity. The shovel-shaped helmet crest is not made by machine, but is cut out and processed by hand one by one.

The helmet base is beautifully carved, exuding bravery and luxury. The back of the helmet is a beautiful combination of green gradations. The diameter of the helmet bowl is about 10 cm. The helmet is made of the highest quality leather thread.

The material is tanned deerskin and handwritten. The craftsmanship of the artisans who have mastered the lacquering technique is on display here.
Although it cannot be seen with the naked eye, you can feel the unevenness when you touch the hoe-shaped crest with your hand. That is how highly skilled it was carved out.

The beautiful color scheme makes this item popular with women too.
This helmet was made by Kato Tomomi, the number one Edo armor maker, and requires a lot of effort and skill.

Please place the bow on the left side and the sword on the right side. Bows and swords are said to "keep away evil spirits and demons" and are sold as talismans at shrines.
In addition, swords are displayed to protect the wearer from demons who hate shiny things. Bows and swords were not used for fighting, but it was believed that gods resided in long bows.
Since it is not for fighting, the sheath is placed on top and the handle is placed on the bottom. Displaying the bow and sword on both sides shows that the retainers are guarding the general's armor by his side.

While the majority of folding screens are straight, this one has a curved shape. The fabric is made of natural wood that makes use of the grain of the wood to create a warm wooden feel.
A streamlined folding screen produced with skill by Hinasei Kobo.
The rising dragon symbolizes success. The rising dragon and tiger are holographically processed and sparkle. The actual product is obviously more beautiful than in the photo. I fell in love with it.
These May dolls maintain a high level of quality and are highly artistic works.

When you see a picture of a dragon and a tiger, you probably think of something brave. Of course, that's correct, and these two animals were favored by feudal lords during the Warring States period as symbols of bravery. At the core of Buddhist thought is the idea that "in front of the dragon and the tiger stands the Emperor (the nobleman who governs the territory)," and the design is said to represent peace throughout the world. At the core of Buddhist thought is the blue dragon in the east and the white tiger in the west, which are revered as gods that protect the four directions.

This May doll is filled with the wish that the child will have a strong subject in the future as he or she paves their own way.
