商品説明

May doll, Masamune Date wearing a helmet, wearable helmet ornament, storage ornament, May first festival

This is a May doll of Date Masamune, with an impressive long crescent moon on the left.
Helmets using this type of crest still exist today.
A black lacquered five-plate helmet at the Sendai City Museum in Miyagi Prefecture uses this front plate.
It is also designated as an Important Cultural Property.

People who want to give a May doll based on a military commander to their child or grandchild often give it in honor of that military commander.
This helmet actually exists, so I would love for you to go see it with your child when they grow up.
One of the charms of existing helmets is that they allow us to look forward to the future.

Date Masamune was a military commander who pacified the Tohoku region.
Not only was he intelligent, but he was also well-liked by his retainers and a strong military commander.

Many historians believe that if Date Masamune had been born 10 years earlier, it would have been him, not Hideyoshi or Ieyasu, who would have ruled the country, and he is still a beloved military commander in the Tohoku region.

【folding screen】

Date Masamune's other name is "Dokuganryu Masamune."
Date Masamune, who lost one eye due to an illness in his childhood, is known in historical dramas and other media for his appearance with the hilt of his sword over one eye.

The folding screen, which highlights the May dolls associated with Dokuganryu Masamune, features a dragon and a tiger.
The dragon and tiger screen is a royal screen, and in China it is a screen used by the emperor (= king).

Although the folding screen looks as if a conflict is about to break out at any moment, these two motifs are actually a sign of peace throughout the country.
This is a picture of not only a dragon, but also a tiger, and by showing two animals standing side by side, it represents a world free from conflict and anger.
The mat placed under the helmet also has a dragon motif.

[Bow and sword]

The design is such that it is safe for children to hold and play with.
However, small children may play in unexpected ways, so make sure an adult is nearby to supervise them when they are playing.

[Recommended for these people]

"People who would like to travel with their children in the future to see the helmets that inspired May dolls."
"Those who want to give a May doll related to a military commander"
"People who want their children to grow up to be brave, inspired by the bravery of Date Masamune."
