A lovely May doll for wearing and storage - Uesugi Kenshin, storage type

This May doll is popular among people who don't have much storage space because it can be stored directly inside the storage stand.

It is modeled after the helmet of Uesugi Kenshin, a wise general of the Warring States period.
The pieces are sized to fit easily on a stand so that they are easy to display and store, but the craftsmanship of each piece is not compromised, regardless of the size.

Helmets modeled after those of warlords from the Sengoku period reflect the parents' wishes for their child to grow up to be like that warlord.
The Uesugi Kenshin helmet in storage is one that I think many people purchase because they are attracted to the way Uesugi Kenshin lived his life, having survived the Sengoku period brilliantly, enjoying the strong support of his subjects, and never losing a major battle.

【helmet】

The most distinctive feature of Uesugi Kenshin's helmet is the front crest which has a circle representing the sun and a short moon on one side.
This is a frontlet called a "sun and crescent moon frontlet" or "sun and moon frontlet."

Uesugi Kenshin worshipped Bishamonten, the god of war.
It is said that the sun and moon were also used on the front as religious motifs.
The right side is shorter when worn so that it does not get in the way when putting on a bow or swinging a sword.
Enjoy the vestiges of that time, which were not only decorative but also quite practical.

By using both gold and silver, the helmet is designed to evoke the light of the sun and the shadow of the moon.

[Furniture]

The size of the bow and arrow on the stored Uesugi Kenshin helmet is smaller than that of the non-storage version, making it easier to display.
The storage box is made from a single piece of domestically grown cedar.

Inspired by traditional Japanese townhouse architecture, we recreated a dignified yet nostalgic Japanese tradition.
We would like to convey the good old Japanese traditions of parents celebrating their children and grandparents celebrating the birth of their grandchild.

【folding screen】

Uesugi Kenshin's childhood name was "Kagetora," and he was nicknamed "The Tiger of Echigo."
Also, after he grew up, he used a flag with the character "dragon" on it in battles, and so he came to be known as the "Dragon of Echigo."

Originally, Dragon and Tiger are names often used to refer to people who are brave and have great military fortune.
Among the four Chinese gods, they were used as the guardian deities of the east and west, respectively, in situations where powerful military commanders were divided between the east and west.
In Japan, it is said that "the dragon and the tiger will kill each other," and it is extremely rare to refer to one person by both names.

Many historians say that if Uesugi Kenshin had lived a little longer, it is impossible to say how different the Sengoku period itself would have been.
The folding screen also features a dragon and a tiger in honor of this rare and wise general.
